Timeform highlight two horses of interest at Pontefract this evening.
FAROUGH – 18:47 Pontefract
FAROUGH's Leicester debut form looks strong – the third, fourth and ninth have all won since and the runner-up has been placed in a good maiden - so he's taken to strike with the extra furlong here promising to suit.
Roger Varian’s grey son of Ardad showed plenty under a hands-and-heels ride when 2¾ lengths sixth of 15 to Coppull in a five-furlong maiden at Leicester last month and he looks capable of better with that experience under his belt.
Ubetterseethis, who had an excuse when turned over at short odds at Beverley, and some interesting newcomers including Storm Cat and Lily Pearl should ensure that he isn’t sent off at prohibitive odds.
HIGHLAND OLLY – 20:47 Pontefract
The Grant Tuer-trained HIGHLAND OLLY was only nudged up 2 lb for his recent all-the-way Nottingham win and might be able to follow up from a handy inside stall at a course where horses can often give their rivals the slip off the home-turn.
With his main rival for the pace Milteye a non-runner, Highland Olly may only need to master Mount King in the early stages in order for Jason Hart to be able to set his own favourable fractions in-front.
With the trip and ground to suit, another big run looks on the cards.
